After doing some more digging, it seems to be somehow related to vsync. It seems like the framerate is getting stuck at 1/2 of what it should be. E.g. my 75Hz panel is showing ~38FPS. Changing the latency option in Settings > Display and Monitor > Compositor does not make a difference. It seems to be kwin as when I disable compositing, the issue goes away entirely. Same when gaming with the compositor off. No issues. Also I have KDE Frameworks Version: 5.111.0. somehow hit 6 by accident. This seems to be caused by the NVidia driver update and affects other compositors too, so please report this to NVidia I haven't noticed it with compton or with Mutter, do you see somewhere people are reporting the issue with other compositors? The nvidia bug report is all KDE DEs. yes, here's someone reporting issues with Sway: https://www.reddit.com/r/archlinux/comments/17nrbcg/comment/k7uo45b/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 In general, if things break after a driver update, please report the problem to the driver vendor first. Especially in the case of proprietary drivers there's rarely anything we can do about it. |
