STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. loaded file without dependent video files loaded and ran kdenlive with proxy files instead
2. tried to save file but crashes each time
3. saving with dependent video files loaded is fine

OBSERVED RESULT
crashes

Thanks for your report. Is this issue reproducible with a very simple project, like just one proxied file ?
I cannot reproduce on linux. Also, which Kdenlive version are you using ?

Yeah same happens with a fresh project with just one proxied file.
The crash happens when saving on Mac OS 11.7.10 using Kdenlive v.23.04.3 and the latest version 23.08.1

I am still unable to reproduce on Linux, so it might be a Mac specific issue. Will try to test on a Mac in the next days...
