Description Lassi Väätämöinen 2023-10-24 15:22:03 UTC
SUMMARY
The Document Preview plugin UI just says "Preview not available", without hinting the problem of missing KMarkdownWebview.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Kate
2. Enable Document Preview plugin from settings
3. Create a markdown file, *.md
4. Create markdown text, and open Documente Preview tool view

OBSERVED RESULT
"Preview not available"

EXPECTED RESULT
"Missing kmarkdownwebview...", in case a required software dependency is missing. Maybe in the "Diagnostics" view, or something

The preview plugin is not maintained, if you want to have this improved, please
submit a merge request, otherwise that will stay the way it is at the moment.

I am sorry that does create issues for you, but the only other fix would be to remove it.

I recently discovered that Okular with auto-refresh works as well, or even better, since you don’t need to switch to tool view side panel. So can live with the removal, too.
