SUMMARY
I would first like to say that I am really impressed with KdenLive. Coming from Magix (Sony) Vegas which is an absolute unstable mess which is what I used for 10 years. This program appears to be rock solid on Debian Stable and very intuitive to use. I am focusing primarily on audio cross-fading and precise edits on the timeline. This is the bulk of my work before I send off to other editors for adding VFX.

I have two inquiries as I am building my workflow in Kdenlive.

Question 1: Is there a way to make it so when pressing play and stop on the timeline, the timeline cursor returns to the original point where we pressed play from? This is a feature I am used to in other audio editors of the past. It's useful for when I am listening closely to the accuracy of an audio cross-fade. The current way to do this is by moving the timeline cursor back in order to replay from a point before the edit, which is one extra step.

Question 2/Feature Request: I am using the Grab Current Item (Shift + G) function to grab the currently selected clip and then I use the arrow keys to move the clip 1 frame at a time to the left or to the right, or to move it to a different track.

Sometimes when doing 2nd pass timeline edits, I often need to use the Spacer Tool in order to make sure the existing edits after the timeline cursor also shift. This is important for keeping those existing edits in their exact relative positions. I noticed when using the spacer tool it is necessary to use the mouse to click and drag the clips. I did try to use Grab Current Item function in combination with the spacer tool and does not seem to be supported. Basically what I am looking for is a way to use the spacer tool in combination with the arrow keys to make precise shifts of 1 frame at a time. This is because I might be doing a cross-fade in the middle of the project and all of the other cross-fades to the right should keep their existing relative positions. Using the mouse is ok but it is a little less precise and I need to keep zooming in and out of the project when using that method.

Kdenlive rocks, thank you for supporting it!
