SUMMARY
The splash scree/initial screen appears then nothing, no matter how long I wait. If I start it under strace I can see that it is "statt"ing ever single file in my unfortunately enormous home directory

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start K3b
2. Initial screen is displayed
3. Wait forever. Nothing happens in under 30 minutes, occasionally it will return and allow further interaction, but then it appears to go back to scanning my entire home directory.
4. Sometimes it eventually actually works perfectly, maybe it caches its insane scan of the home directory.
5. If you go into settings, it starts again.
