ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Tried to install Discover again from Muon (package: "plasma-discover") but the program returns: "plasma-discover is not installable"
Comment 1 Valter Mura 2023-09-23 21:45:29 UTC
Moreover, I tried a "pkcon refresh && update" and I get the following error:

«Errore irreversibile: The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  libappstream5: Dipende: libxmlb2 (>= 0.3.14) but 0.3.6-2build1 is to be installed»
Comment 2 Valter Mura 2023-09-25 16:22:25 UTC
And the result is that from the latest update on, I cannot receive updates from Discover, because it has been uninstalled without a specific reason. I could update several packages through Muon.

If I try to install Discover through package manager Muon, I get the following error:

"The «plasma-discover» package cannot be selected for installation or update:
It depends: plasma-discover, but it is not installable
Recommends: plasma-discover, but it is not installable"

Yes, there are some major ABI issues with using an unreleased appstream, packagekit has been fixed, but discover is still in a state of disrepair, but we are working on it. Unfortunate side effect of living life on the edge in unstable.

I have tons of missing dependencies (see the attachment) I've installed Neon Unstable approximately on Sept 20, then I've booted it today and run the "pkcon update" command. All the attached dependencies are broken.

I don't know if it's related to this bug or I should open a new bug report.

Hi
Those are unrelated. One of our builders ran out of space, thus breaking the world in unstable. I worked through a bunch this morning and will get back to it tomorrow if someone else doesn't beat me to it. Unfortunately, servers aren't aware they are not allowed to break on the weekends!

Thank you very much for your reply and hard work!
Comment 7 Carlos De Maine 2025-09-20 09:35:22 UTC
Thank you for your bug report!
However this bug report was created/provided previous to 01/01/2023 and also has not received any updates since before 01/01/2025.
Unfortunately KDE neon no longer provides updates for anything older than noble 24.04 based edition's.
Please upgrade to KDE neon noble and if you can reproduce the issue after upgrading to an active version, feel free to re-open this bug report.
Thanks for understanding!
