i have been backporting various commits and merge requests just for fun tinkering and hopes that i manage to get https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/merge_requests/4177 built ontop of plasma5. now something like two thirds there and like 30 merge requests later. this has stopped happening so might be fixed in plasma 6/kwin master. the issue was not because of my tinkering, its occuring on the default kwin from repos. (In reply to Tom Englund from comment #0) I have an issue that I believe is the same as yours. Two monitors, both 100% scale, but different resolutions. Right monitor is 2560x1440, left monitor is 1920x1080. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1T2mxoXvcXV24PVpx1o_KmV48A8FBOE1k/view?usp=sharing (the video is poor quality but downloading the file helps slightly) It seems random, with the exception of one pattern I noticed: if I have a window maximized on the left monitor (1080p) and drag it down/right. However, I don't remember if this happened every time. > this can be "reverted" by simply disabling the non scaled monitor in system settings and enabling it again. I will try this next time it happens. I am able to revert it by logging out, but not by locking. Operating System: Debian GNU/Linux 12 KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.103.0 Qt Version: 5.15.8 Kernel Version: 6.1.0-28-amd64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT (In reply to daninshed from comment #2) Can confirm that I can revert it by disabling my 1440p monitor. The glitch has happened twice since my previous comment and I was able to do this both times. Uncheck "Enabled", hit apply, monitor goes dark, hit revert, monitor comes back up and the glitch disappears. Thanks for the bug report, and I'm sorry we weren't able to look into it yet! Are you able to reproduce the issue in Plasma 6.3.5 โ or even better, in the Plasma 6.4 beta? Or also the Plasma 6.4 final release, once it comes out in mid-June. Thanks a lot! (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #4) Hi Nate, I have not used those versions so I have to say no for now. I might distro hop and have the opportunity to reproduce it at some point though. Also, since Tom has not chimed in, I am not sure whether my issue is actually a real duplicate. If it's not I apologize. Cool, let's see what Tom has to say! ๐๐งน โ ๏ธ This bug has been in NEEDSINFO status with no change for at least 15 days. (In reply to Bug Janitor Service from comment #7) No objection. This bug is not actionable until someone (including me) reproduces it in the modern versions. I remember seeing various flickering-type bugs getting fixed for Plasma 6 and this one kinda reminds me of them, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was already fixed. ๐๐งน โ ๏ธ This bug has been in NEEDSINFO status with no change for at least 15 days.
