SUMMARY

In light of the annoying bug at https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=469260, it would be really useful if the Refresh Desktop option in the context menu would actually refresh the desktop, as in, rereading the list of files in ~/Desktop.

While that linked bug might have unrelated reasons, it would help having a working refresh option.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Be able to replicate https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=469260 so that desktop files aren't updated
2. Right click the desktop and click Refresh Desktop

OBSERVED RESULT

Nothing happens.

EXPECTED RESULT

Desktop is refreshed.

Can confirm that when this happens, Refresh Desktop doesn't do anything.
Comment 2 Nate Graham 2024-10-02 20:31:12 UTC
For this reason, it was removed in Plasma 6.
