We can't change it, the Libheif is slow. Corresponding bug reports are linked in the UPSTREAM bug. I am closing this bug report accordingly. Maik *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 463486 *** On my older computer (2 cores AMD), the image takes about 6 seconds to reread the metadata or load into the preview. Are you using the Ubuntu digiKam version as a snap package with sandbox? Test our AppImage if there is a difference.
