Seems like a GPU glitch. What GPU are you using? And are you using the Wayland or X11 session?

Is this a regression, or has it always happened on your system?

Likely a graphics driver regression.

what is the fix for my graphics driver problem for my hardware: i915 Intel GFX Driver? will this issue be fixed in the upcoming drivers update?
I am kind of stuck with this situation since long time. Hope the drivers get updates soon... Hoping for the best solution for this issue.

Thanks & Regards,
Gourab

It's pipewire sourceItem, it has a red background as a leftover debugging phase if it can't load the main stream.

Just had exact same problem using Gentoo Linux on Intel Atom N570 with kernel 6.1.57 and this video:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Atom Processor D4xx/D5xx/N4xx/N5xx Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:a011] (rev 02)
Subsystem: Acer Incorporated [ALI] Atom Processor D4xx/D5xx/N4xx/N5xx Integrated Graphics Controller [1025:0590]
        Kernel driver in use: i915
Using KDE 5.27.8 on X11
Qt 5.15.11
mesa 23.1.8
xf86-video-intel 2.99.917_p20230201

Workaround:
1. Using kcmshell5 kcm_qtquicksettings switched renderer to software mode.
2. Turned off video acceleration in other apps where possible (this helped with Steam client)
Red rectangle backgrounds is gone. So is acceleration.
