Is it possible to allow keyboard shortcuts for pause/play, and "previous/next song" (not to select it, but to play it)
I didn't see these options in the "keyboard shortcut" menu, but maybe I missed something

PS. There are buttons on the Macbook Pro (F keys with play/ pause buttons ect.) but these seem to launch "Music" app.

Thanks!

Thanks for the report. Since I do not have such a fancy Macbook Pro, I got myself a USB keyboard with multimedia keys. If I go to the "Keyboard Shortcuts" tag in the preferences and try to assign one of these multimedia keys (AudioPlay, AudioStop, AudioPrev, AudioNext), it is not possible, but they can be used while playing media on Kid3. This is, however, Linux-specific, I assume that these keys are grabbed by the MPRIS panel player of KDE (Kid3 on Linux supports the MPRIS interface).
Could you please check if it is possible on your Macbook Pro to assign the multimedia keys to any of the Kid3 actions? Then I could add some actions for the media player which you could then assign to the multimedia keys.

I have now implemented this feature, you can test it with version git20230920 from https://sourceforge.net/projects/kid3/files/kid3/development/.
