SUMMARY
If you hover your mouse over taskbar icons with amdgpu there's chance that kwin_wayland will hang (while rest system will continue to work i.e. media player will continue playing songs). Had this issue on

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Load in KWin Wayland on AMD GPU and try to switching apps by clicking on icons in taskbar, preferably while having some heavy applications running like videogames
2. Eventually KWin Wayland will hang

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma:  Kubuntu 23.04/Plasma 5.27.4
KDE Plasma Version:  5.27.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.104.0
Qt Version: 5.15.8

Probably same issue was already reported but author could not find problem's origin. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=470309
For some reason it only happens (for me) with taskbar thumbnails, task switcher thumbnails don't cause any problems. Turning off taskbar thumbnails solves issue.

The crash log shows a null pointer dereference in the kernel, triggered but not caused by KWin. Please report this to https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/amd/-/issues
