SUMMARY

This is not a Dolphin bug per se, but as Dolphin is an application in which this issue is most likely seen I would like to draw it to the attention of Dolphin's developers.

Recently the way in which the thumbnailer for jpg images works has changed. If the jpg image has exif data that contains a thumbnail, that thumbnail is used rather than the thumbnailer creating a thumbnail image, presumably for speed reasons. However, the exif thumbnail is of variable, generally low, quality, and the orientation my be incorrect. See attached screenshot.

A bug report has been raised re this issue:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=466658
but so far has had no developer response.
