The nouveau error I mentioned during boot up, (from bug 471037 that I filed vs the Live iso): "[ 3.777003] nouveau 0000:01:00.0: bus: MMIO read of 00000000 FAULT at 022554 [ PRIVRING ]" Hi, thank you for your bug report! Can you still reproduce this issue with the latest neon unstable? There have been many updates to kwin, and this bug may have already been fixed.
