Description welv8m 2023-06-28 20:20:08 UTC
One of my video cameras produces H.264 video files with an MXF extension. Digikam seems to filter these files out and I can't add them to digikam or work with them there. although the files themselves are perfectly readable and work great in digikam. if I just change the filename to make the extension mkv for example, they show up and work fine with digikam. It can work with the files, but appears it just doesn't understand the MXF extension and I don't see any option for telling digikam to see files with that extension. Since the codec and the file itself is perfectly usable, I hope this would be a very simple feature to add.

Go to digiKam Setup-> View-> Mime Types and add "mxf" to video. That's all.

Thank you! I looked everywhere for that (searches etc) and somehow was never able to find it. It wasn't even hiding...
