STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1.  Open kate
2.  Click on the 'Read Handbook' link under the 'Help' section, either from the 'Help' menu tool-bar or from the Welcome page.

OBSERVED RESULT
kate handbook opens, and another window opens with the following error message: 
The server failed the authenticity check (www.verzijlbergh.com).

The host name did not match any of the valid hosts for this certificate

EXPECTED RESULT
For the handbook to open with no issues

That seems very strange for me, that should open the local manual.
This seems unrelated to Kate, could you report that to the packagers, something seems strange.
