Sentry Crash Report:

Description Harrison Swift 2023-06-17 10:04:52 UTC
SUMMARY
Entering full-screen causes the screen to go completely black, except for the cursor. The cursor changes between a pointer, caret, column-resizing arrows, etc depending on its location, so on *some* level the UI is being drawn?

Screen returns to normal when I exit full-screen.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install Ghostwriter on a Debian (bookworm) system, with GNOME as the DE.
2. Launch Ghostwriter, and enter full-screen

I get the same result in both the stable repo's version of Ghostwriter (2.1.6+ds-2) and the unstable repo's version (23.04.2+ds-1)

I haven't tested other Debian 12 DEs yet. Please let me know if I should file this bug report elsewhere (e.g. the Debian package maintainers)

OBSERVED RESULT
A completely blank (black) screen, except for the cursor.
Launching Ghostwriter from the command line gives the following:
(sorry, I don't know what formatting markup to use, if any)

harrison@selkie:~$ ghostwriter
QSocketNotifier: Can only be used with threads started with QThread
Using pandoc version 2.17.1.1
Command "multimarkdown" is not available.
Command "cmark" is not available.
qt.qpa.wayland: Wayland does not support QWindow::requestActivate()
qt.qpa.wayland: Wayland does not support QWindow::requestActivate()

Entering full screen (and navigating through the menu bar) generates more copies of that "qt.qpa.wayland" line.

EXPECTED RESULT
A full-screen app where content and UI is visible.
