KDE connect remote input won't allow me to send voice typing from my phone to my computer

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Click remote input and choose a keyboard
2. Click on a text box in my computer browser or any other section that will allow text input
3. Any keyboard I choose, be it gboard or swift key or Google voice import will redirect me to the same Google voice recording keyboard. It seems like this Google voice recording keyboard isn't sending key strokes, perhaps it's sending whole words which aren't recognised by the computer as text input

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing is received

EXPECTED RESULT
Text input
