STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Execute startplasma-wayland from a TTY (without another instance of Plasma running, per https://discuss.kde.org/t/cant-run-kde-in-two-ttys-simultaneously/2105?u=rokejulianlockhart)

OBSERVED RESULT

Everything is ridiculously slow, and window shadows don't show.

If you're seeing this on bare metal, it means your system is misconfigured and calling back to software rendering. Are you running the system in a VM, or on bare metal?

If your system is using llvmpipe then it being slow is not too surprising. It using llvmpipe in the first place is a configuration issue with your distro though, there's nothing we can do about that
