First, autosave and save are different from backup. Backup is not automatic, but you do get to specify the location. When you do an explicit save, it is basically the same save as the autosave, so if you just save the file once at the end of each session, you should have the last 10 versions of the data file. Also, checking the "Autosave when file is modified on close" should do exactly the same thing. Note that all those saved and autosaved files are all in the same folder as the main data file. Given that information, can you be more specific about what you are requesting? I suppose I can see the use of a "Backup on close" (or maybe 'Backup on start") to assure one copy backed up per session. Some information was asked but never received. So I set the status accordingly. Dear Bug Submitter, This bug has been in NEEDSINFO status with no change for at least 15 days. Please provide the requested information as soon as possible and set the bug status as REPORTED. Due to regular bug tracker maintenance, if the bug is still in NEEDSINFO status with no change in 30 days the bug will be closed as RESOLVED > WORKSFORME due to lack of needed information. For more information about our bug triaging procedures please read the wiki located here: https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Bug_triaging If you have already provided the requested information, please mark the bug as REPORTED so that the KDE team knows that the bug is ready to be confirmed. Thank you for helping us make KDE software even better for everyone! Sorry I didn't reply. Jack's information cleared up my misunderstanding about autosaves and backups. Both work as expected and are exactly what I was asking for. Thanks, again. |
