SUMMARY

Currently, the order of runners in search results is hardcoded: applications are always shown first, while files and folders are always shown last. It would be great to be able to change the order of runners in Search KCM so that the user can choose which runners they would prefer to see above and below in the search results.

opening VLC is a pain

On my systems, yet the order of runners are also hardcoded, the Applications aren't the first option, which is quite inconvenient as shown in the attached image.
There should be an option to let the user reorder the runners.

This was fixed in plasma 6. You can select favorites and change the order however you like.
