Description Henning 2023-06-05 22:46:06 UTC
I am sure this bug is extremely old and known.

Just wanted to report, its still happening.

Example: copying the 3,8GB openSuse microOS iso from btrf Fedora Kinoite LUKS encrypted to an empty exFAT drive (Ventoy). Using cp in Terminal it took 40sec or so, using Dolphin it took 3min or more, with a drastic decrease.

Specified App:

more detailed:

I try to copy a 3GB iso to a usb stick.

0-40% goes in a few seconds, after that it slows down. 40-50% takes over 30s and it seems to slow down even more

The only message I got was:

kf.kio.workers.file: Couldn't preserve group for "/run/media/user/4144-C9F2/Fedora-Kinoite-ostree-x86_64-37-1.7.iso"

But It guess this is due to the USB stick being FAT32, no support for groups, permissions
