STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use folder view for desktop
2. Try and select any files on the desktop with a selection box with the mouse

OBSERVED RESULT
Blue rectangle is drawn but no files inside the box are selected

EXPECTED RESULT
Files are selected

Works for me. Is this 100% reproducible? Is any output printed to the console if you kill plasmashell, run it manually in a terminal window, and check the console output when it happens? Can you select files or folders by clicking normally? Is your Folder View scrollable?

I reported this on my old install on my portable SSD, a fresh install to my internal SSD all seems to be fine, closing.
