SUMMARY
For a couple of weeks now displaying of text in konsole and yakuake is messed-up on my multi-monitor setup.


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start yakuake or konsole
2. Input text

OBSERVED RESULT
The problems are random but it occurs in more than 50% of cases.
My setup is following:
1. Laptop 1920x1080
2. External screen 2560x1440
Global scale 125%
Using X11

"Messed-up" means that when konsole or yakuake is displayed on the external screen, there's a gap between the last input character and the caret. The gap can get bigger depending on the input, hitting tab and probably other actions. Also, when selecting text in the terminal, it's as if I should select the area past end of the text and the selected text is also displayed incorrectly.

When yakuake is displayed on external monitor, it also lacks the bottom bar.

The attached screenshots show problems when using yakuake woth zsh but it's the same with konsole and bash

I'm afraid complex multi-screen configurations are known to be poorly supported on X11, and fixing this ranges between "very difficult" and "impossible" due to X11 limitations. The Wayland session offers a better multi-screen experience that also gets better because it's actively developed and maintained. If you need support for complex multi-screen arrangements, I'd recommend using use the Wayland session, and see if the terminal text looks better there.
