Description Henning 2023-05-30 11:52:44 UTC
For some reason since the 5.27.4 to 5.27.5 Update windows are very blurry, while 1px-wide line bugs are still existent.

I report it here as it seems some got blurrier / blurry that were not before, same scaling 125% 1440p.

Affected apps:
- Betterbird flatpak (Thunderbird, Firefox ESR)
- Signal Flatpak (electron)
- balena Etcher (Appimage)
- freefilesync Flatpak

not affected:
- GTK Flatpaks
- Qt KDE apps

I wonder why this could be. Betterbird and Signal are for sure newly blurry.

So all your Flatpak and AppImage apps got blurry? Can you attach a screenshot that shows a blurry Flatpak app next to a non-blurry (or less-blurry) non-Flatpak app?

In System Settings > Display and Monitor, what's the value of the "legacy applications" scale setting?
Comment 2 Henning 2023-06-07 14:05:03 UTC
No it was not Flatpak, it was XWayland. Omg, as I set "let apps scale themselves" everything got sharp again!

Thanks, I guess this is solved? Is this the default value?
Comment 3 Nate Graham 2023-06-07 14:13:50 UTC
It is the default value, yeah. Looks like somehow it got reset to something else, by you, or someone else, or a misbehaving app.
