SUMMARY

The Roboto fonts (all families) from Google are truetype files that are not able to be opened or viewed by kfontview or KDE font management.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Grab a Roboto font (any), in this example, you could get the family by clicking download family in the upper right at https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Roboto
2. Extract the archive
3. Using font management in KDE settings try to install from a file OR just double-click on one of the TTFs to try and open font viewer.

OBSERVED RESULT

font viewer -> "Could not read font."
font management -> "fontfilename is not a font."

EXPECTED RESULT

To be displayed and/or installed.

Please note that Plasma 5.26.1 will not be supported for much longer by KDE; supported versions are 5.27, and 5.27 or newer.

Please upgrade to the latest version as soon as your distribution makes it available to you. Plasma is a fast-moving project, and bugs in one version are often fixed in the next one.
