Description Paul Menzel 2023-05-23 09:00:03 UTC
Using Debian sid/unstable with *plasma-discover-backend-fwupd* 5.27.2-1, on Dell laptop, Discover showed the user, a system firmware update was available. Selecting it and clicking on *Update*(?) nothing happened. (I would have expected a dialog to ask the user to restart the system.)

Using the command line `fwupdmgr update` downloaded the UEFI Capsule update, and hooked it up into memory, and asked the user to restart the system. Doing that, the system firmware recognized the UEFI Capsule update in memory, and applied it.

Yeah, this is a bad UX. The update is actually being queued up and will apply on the next reboot.
