If I plug an external monitor then set it as primary display, then If I switch back to laptop screen via display applet the whole plasma becomes frozen with laptop screen still black and no way to regain control of my session.
This also happens if I disconnect my external cable, then the laptop screen becomes frozen, sometimes it regains control after more than 20 seconds of waiting, and sometimes it remains indefinitely frozen.

Cannot reproduce in Plasma 6.

Thank you for the bug report. Unfortunately we were not able to get to it yet. Can we ask you to please check if this is still an issue with either Plasma 5.27.12 (the current LTS version) or Plasma 6.2.5 (the latest released version)?

I'm also not able to reproduce this on git-master for Plasma 6
