Hello, I would like an option added that allows for previewing the location selected to record as well as a "start recording" button. Right now i am not a fan of how it just starts recording and doesn't let you see what area you have selected (to make sure you selected the correct area) and starting immediately can be a little annoying if you want to prepare to record a clip of something and first want to make sure you have everything correct and ready before recording. This could even be an optional toggle of "start recording immediately" or "use button to start recording." This was a really nice feature of "SimpleScreenRecorder" that I was using before.

Hmm, right now you don't select an area at all; you select the full screen or a window. I'm not sure what a previous would accomplish here; can you clarify?

Sometimes I would like to have a preview so i can make sure I selected the right screen, as well as with the other feature I reauested it would be a nice option to have to make sure you are capturing the area you want to. I previously used "SimpleScreenRecorder" and they had the preview option and option to capture a very specific area, not the entire screen, and I used those functions a lot, so I think they would be nice additions to this program.

If we did this, I think it would turn a one-step process into a two-step one, which doesn't seem desirable. SimpleScreenRecorder, despite its name, is anything but simple, and we'd like Spectacle to offer a *truly* simple UX here. :) Thanks for the idea anyway though!

Could you add an "Advanced mode" button that would allow for preview and the options for the following feature request of mine? https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=469779 They are features I really like, and simplescreenrecorder is no longer easy to install for me, plus I think some people like myself will appreciate the option to be able to do these things even if it is hidden under an "advanced" menu by default.
