Description Jef Damen 2023-05-10 11:10:51 UTC
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start Kdenlive (version 23.07.70 or the portable version 23.04.0a)
2. Put a HD video (I tried MTS,AVI and mp4) of a few minutes on the timeline .
3. Start playing (clip monitor or project monitor)

OBSERVED RESULT
As it is playing the used RAM memory is increasing till all the memory is used. Then the video starts to kind of stuttering.

EXPECTED RESULT
Not an increase of used memory. If I try the portable version 22.12.2 everything seems to be ok.
If I try all these versions on my Ubuntu 22.04 then it is also ok.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 10

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
My Windows laptop has 16GB of RAM memory.

There were some memory leaks in the MLT version used in the Kdenlive 23.04.0x packages. Could you please try the latest 23.04.1 version from https://kdenlive.org/download

And let us know if you still experience this memory issue ?
Thanks

I tried version 23.04.1 (portable version on Windows) but the problem still exists.
I also tried Version 23.07.70 (rev. 3213aa88d) from May 16, it also eats my memory.
