SUMMARY
This was originally reported as issue 467249 which was closed due to lack of information. I have since been able to reliably reproduce the issue on two different systems.

When the top item in klipper is an URL such as http:// or file:/// a popup menu appears. The mouse cursor is now bound to this menu. Any mouse movement results in more copies of the menu.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add an URL to klipper. For example copy an URL from git.
2. The popup immediately appears.

OBSERVED RESULT
Gui operations are impossible

EXPECTED RESULT
Popup should not appear automatically

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version:
KDE Frameworks Version:
Qt Version:

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
To recover ( fortunately keyboard works ) use ctl-alt-del to logout. Login as root and navigate to to the user's ./local/share/klipper. Remove history2.lst. Logout and login as regular user.
Simply logging out or booting will not fix it. The login will fail until history2.lst is removed.

Cannot reproduce in a Plasma 6 session.

Closing as we already have Bug 467249 to track this. No need for multiple reports of the same thing, which only confuses everyone.
