SUMMARY

can“t launch kup prune utility from a wayland session, no problem launching it from a X11 session. launching from console results in: 
$ kup-purger 
QSocketNotifier: Can only be used with threads started with QThread

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. start a plasma wayland session
2. try to launch purge old backups


OBSERVED RESULT
3. wait forever :(

EXPECTED RESULT
launch prune backups utility

Thanks for the report!

I have now found the time to test this and I am not able to see any problem. Unfortunately it just works. 

I have tried version 0.9.1 (using latest versions of Qt5 and KF5 libraries). I have also tried latest, unreleased, version of kup.

If you find that it still happens for you, please reopen this bug report and we will dig deeper.
