ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
flatpak based installation on mobian (debian for mobile) on a pinephone
if BT headset is used (instead of speaker), the number of outages increase
could the issue be solved by increasing the buffer/cache on VLC-Player?

Can reproduce.
I currently don't have a clue why this happens in the flatpak version, but not in the native one.
Comment 2 bart 2023-05-02 07:37:48 UTC
BTW, all buffers/caches are already set to 10 seconds.
I see a few other reports about VLC stuttering audio after resuming playback at higher playback rates, but no solutions. There is/are apparently (a) bug(s) filed against VLC for this.
In view of this, I would say that this is an upstream issue that we can't do much about.
I'll leave this report open for now. Maybe some more researching might yield something.

Sorry, but I'm going to close this. There is nothing that Kasts itself can do to resolve this (minor?) issue.
This is solely an upstream problem of libvlc.
I would suggest to open a ticket against the upstream project if you think it's important enough to get this resolved.
