Hi
Face recognition struggles with large group photos.
I had a photo where a name was suggested about 15 times. 
Maybe something can be changed here.

Hi Andy,
DigiKam 8.5.0 will have new facial detection and facial recognition capabilities.  One of the new features allows the user to specify if there are "very small" faces in the image digiKam should look for.  This helps significantly with recognition of faces in large group photos.

I hope you'll test out the new feature in when digiKam 8.5.0 is released and let us know how we did.

Hello Michael,

I tested with "Small" and can see a noticeable improvement. 
Almost all faces in large group photos are found. 
But I want to test again with "Extra Small".

almost all the faces have been found. A few are still missing, although they are also clearly recognizable.

Thanks Andy, we appreciate your help!  It looks like we're moving in the right direction.

Lowering the accuracy a little more should pick up most of the other faces.  I strongly recommend that you when drop the accuracy below 50 with "Extra Small" faces you only scan for faces on a single image, or a folder with only a few images to limit the number of false positives.

If you lower the accuracy to 40 or 45 in the settings and then go back to the folder with the image, you can right click on the image and select "Scan for faces".

Does that get them all?
