Description colic 2023-04-27 23:51:40 UTC
SUMMARY

Project files are not stored in the location specified in the setting specified in Project Defaults. Instead they are stored under /run/user/doc/ which is inaccessible.

Project files cannot therefore be accessed outside of Kdenlive and cannot therefore be backedup or copied

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use the SNAP version of kdenlive. This bug does not appear in the appimage version.
2. Set kdenlive project defaults to a custom folder of your choice.
3. Start a new project
4. Save As the new project to a name of your choice. The Save As folder appears as per the custom setting above
5. Select the project just saved from the Open Recent menu
6. Take a backup as required of the project file just saved, in the custom location as above

OBSERVED RESULT

1. Recent Files show the saved project, but its location is under /run/user/doc ... not the custom folder specified
2. The saved project file does not appear in the custom saved location as specified in the custom location default
3. the saved project file cannot be accessed externally from kdenlive in its /run/user/doc location due to permissions issues.

EXPECTED RESULT

1. The project file is saved in the location specified both in kdenlive project defaults and the project settings to which they are propagated.
2. The project file is accessible external to kdenlive to be able to copy, backup, or move elsewhere
