SUMMARY
After Kolourpaint's last update, suddenly the app icon disappeared (the one you click on to open the app). It has been replaced by a standard gear icon.

Removing and re-installing Kolourpaint (via snap) did not solve the issue.


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install Kolourpaint on a Ubuntu 22.04 machine, using the snap store.

OBSERVED RESULT
Kolourpaint app icon has been replaced by a standard "gear" icon.

EXPECTED RESULT
Kolourpaint's own specific app icon shows in the list of installed apps.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux, Ubuntu 22.04
Kolourpaint 22.12.3

Still trying to sort this one out. The icon is there for me on Debian bookworm. Thanks for your patience.

The icon disappeared on two different Ubuntu 22.04 PC's that I use. Re-installing the app did not solve this.

I am using version 22.12.3. The bug is now gone.
If it would help, I could test version 23.04.0 for you. But where can I find this version?

sudo snap refresh kolourpaint should do the trick.
