Created attachment 158093 [details]
A screenshot of the Kate File menu.

SUMMARY

Neither Kate nor Kwrite have a print option in the File menu or anywhere in the menus I can find. It's not even present but greyed out, just totally missing.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Launch Kate or Kwrite
2. Type some text you wish to print.
3. Click the File menu

OBSERVED RESULT

No print option available.

EXPECTED RESULT

Print option available.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Operating System: KDE neon 5.27
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.105.0
Qt Version: 5.15.8

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I don't know when exactly this option diapered, but it's not there on my new laptop I installed Neon on last week, either. Printing works from other KDE components such as Kmail, Okular and Plan.

I'm attaching a screenshot of the Kate File menu. KWrite's looks the same.

Export / Print in your screenshot.
Comment 2 Waqar Ahmed 2023-04-14 08:50:52 UTC
Can also use Ctrl+p

OK, obviously that is not a good idea to combine those two since I missed the Print portion of that. Who thought it was a good idea to combine two entirely different options into one submenu just to save a line or two in the menu?
