Sentry Crash Report:

Description Lars Ivar Igesund 2023-04-12 20:45:17 UTC
Relatively often when going away from the laptop (it is connected to power, so don't go to sleep or similar, just screen goes to black), the desktop has relatively often restarted when I get back.

Today is first time I have checked, but dmesg had this

kwin_wayland[43369]: segfault at 10 ip 00007fa9471d0c14 sp 00007ffcb18c4518 error 4 in libkwin.so.5.27.3[7fa946f58000+32d000]

I am sorry that I don't immediately know if it is possible to get a stack trace from this, or if it is relevant.

A potentially relevant note (at least it was this today, I don't remember if it was like this previous times, but I have a feeling they were):

I bring my laptop to the office about once a week (today was such a day). There I connect it to a USB-C dock (Dell make), and attach keyboard, roller mouse and an external 4K Dell monitor. When going home, I disconnect the dock, close the lid and put it in my backpack. Home, I take it out and connect it. This evening I left home for a while, and when I returned, the above had happened.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go away from laptop, possibly after been through some laptop lid closing and opening and such

OBSERVED RESULT
Desktop has restarted all by itself

EXPECTED RESULT
Desktop doesn't restart all by itself

If something crashed, we need a backtrace of it so we can figure out what's going on. Can you please attach a backtrace of the kwin_wayland crash using the `coredumpctl` command-line program, as detailed in https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports#Retrieving_a_backtrace_using_coredumpctl?

Thanks!

Not sure it helps for the needsinfo status, but I'm currently waiting on this to happen again while also having the necessary debug symbols. Last week it didn't happen, presumably because the triggering situation was cancelled due to laptop turning off rather than going to sleep.
