Does the icon not change to a floppy? Created attachment 158047 [details]
Modified doc shows a floppy icon
In HTML-documents I can see when a document was edited and not saved, because when opening the document, there is a circle inside the floppy icon. If I edit the document, but not save it, then the floppy icon has no circle inside. If I save it, then there is again a circle inside the floppy icon. But this is not the case with TXT-documents. When opening a TXT-document there is already no circle inside the floppy icon. If I save the edited document, then there is still no circle inside the flopy icon, so there's never a circle inside the floppy icon. Can you share screenshots? Since you are not in a KDE/Breeze environment, things might be looking different I will change the title of this report from "there's no visual effect in the tab if document was edited but not saved" to "there's no visual effect in the tab if a TXT-document was edited but not saved". I will add a screenshot when opening a HTML-document and a TXT-document. After opening both documents I didn't edit both documents. You can see that the two floppy icons are different. It is a screenshot about when opening a HTML-document and a TXT-document. Although I didn't edit both documents, the floppy icon is different.
I think there is no "modified" icon in the icon theme that you are using. I would suggest installing a better icon theme such as the breeze-icon-theme, which will resolve this problem for you. >I think there is no "modified" icon in the icon theme that you are using. Well, I don't think so, because there is a "modified" icon for HTML-documents. If you were right, then there should be also no "modified" icon for HTML-documents. >I would suggest installing a better icon theme such as the breeze-icon-theme, which will resolve this problem for you. In Settings, in Configure Kate..., in Color Themes, in Default Themes, Breeze Light is selected. There is no modified icon for a particular type of document. There is just one that we use. It replaces any existing icon when the doc is modified.
> Color Themes
Color theme is not Icon theme.
>Color theme is not Icon theme.
In Lubuntu, in the Preferences, in LXQt Settings, in Appearance, in Icons Theme, I tried different Icons Theme. The result is always the same. Either both have no icons or both have different icons.
< ... which will resolve this problem for you.
No, it doesn't.
Did you try Breeze icon theme? >Did you try Breeze icon theme?
Breeze icon theme does not exist.
Then install it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ sudo apt update sudo apt install breeze-icon-theme Then Breeze Icon Theme appears in the Icons Theme. Now, indeed the icons are similar when they were edited, but not saved. But unfortunately the icons are very small. And unfortunately they are different when both documents are saved. Just as feedback, even if maybe it is too complicated to solve: Instead of an icon I would prefer something like font-style italic (when editing but not saved). Thank you for your help. The icons are too small. Is there a possibility to make the icons bigger? Can you try to install breeze Qt application style and test using that? Should be changeable in the settings, but I have never used lubuntu so not sure. Best ask Lubuntu guys about this. >Can you try to install breeze Qt application style ..?
What is the command for that?
>Can you try to install breeze Qt application style and test using that?
Oh, do you mean not the Icons Theme but the Widget Style?
I use already Breeze in the Widget Style, in Qt Style.
In Appearance I can change the Font but not the size of the icons.
