Hi,

Creating a search to show only all of the recursive content from a specific album yields (WD 3To - Archives Numérique ) no results.

You should check all the sub-folders!

Recursive root album: "WD 3To - Digital Archives"

-- ++++ 2000-01-02 xxx
-- ++++ 2000-02-12 yyy

-- ++++ 2001-01-01 nnn
-- ++++ 2002-02-13 mmm

Attached log file (DigiKam 7_10_0.LOG) :

Line 259 -> 265

Now this problem has been reported several times, but in digiKam you have to tick all sub-albums that you want to search as well. This is easily done via the right mouse button menu-> Select-> Children. This gives you the option of excluding sub-albums from the search. The behavior is the same everywhere in digiKam.

Another thing, why add each folder under "/Archives Photos" as a separate collection? Why not just "/Archives Photos" only?
Yes, you can do it, but that's not the point of collections as we understand them.

Indeed, my apologies, I had not thought of the contextual menu…

"Another thing, why add each folder under "/Archives Photos" as a separate collection? Why not just "/Archives Photos" only?"

125,000 photos are stored on a 3TB hard drive. It is faster to refresh separate collections when adding new photos to the database.

In addition, Parents / Children selections and filters take less time on collections than on the entire catalog of more than 125,000 photos.

But, I never tried to create a new search from a previous search...
