I might have found a temporary fix to the bug which doesn't require re-installation. I go into the settings of the app and deselect the permission to Photo/Video and Music/Sound. Then I open the app again and after it asks for the aforementioned permissions, I click on consent, and then the app starts working again as at the beginning. It's a quick fix, however it must be repeated each time the problem happens again, i.e. once a week or so, so it would be nice to have a fix on this bug if possible. Hi! From the description, it seems that you have also tried the "force stop" app, And it didn't work? When the app is frozen, do you get any dialog from the system which says something like "The app keeps stopping, Kill? Wait"? (In reply to sh_zam from comment #2) > Hi! > > From the description, it seems that you have also tried the "force stop" > app, And it didn't work? Automatically switching the status of this bug to REPORTED so that the KDE team knows that the bug is ready to get confirmed. In the future you may also do this yourself when providing needed information. This is still a issue on Krita 5.2.3 (git 68d178c) Im on a Samsung Tab s9 Ultra running Android 14 Steps to reproduce 1. Open krita on a android tablet 2. Create a New Image or Open a Recent Image 3. (Bug!) Observe the app hangs and nothing is opened 4. (Work around) Minimize the app to the background and then open it again. Or select File in the top left of the screen, then select back on to the main dashboard of krita. 5. Observe your image is now opened and Krita is working normally (until you completely close Krita) Though seemingly similar, I believe the issue on 5.2.3 is a completely different bug (reported as bug 488606). This bug report involves Krita becoming completely unresponsive after having been installed for some time, while the other bug involves Krita becoming partially unresponsive regardless of how long it's been installed. The original issue looked like something related to "Recent Files" list, given that the symptoms appear with some time. Yes, I concur with Dmitry. Since I cannot test this myself, a way to figure out if it is the recent files list would be to manually close open files and press Recent Image: Clear every time before closing Krita. If that helps, the hunch is correct. We did rewrite the recent files system twice since 5.1.5, so maybe the bug is gone, that could be possible, too. ๐๐งน โ ๏ธ This bug has been in NEEDSINFO status with no change for at least 15 days.
