ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Cannot reproduce. Is KStars in a different language?
Comment 2 daedalus1 2023-03-25 18:11:49 UTC
Not that I know of. I'm in the US and using (American) English.

I just tried it again. So, go to the star 'Spica'. Right click on Spica to get the Detail box. In the Detail box, choose Advanced. From the Simbad drop down menu double click co "general". You should see what I described.

Thanks!!

I tested Spica now and it's Simbad. Have no idea how you can end up with "simbak". This string doesn't exist at all in KStars.

I appreciate your timely responses, Mr. Mutlag.

I have absolutely no explanation. I am a double star observer and such an annoyance would make me crazy. There were other minor anomalies with Kstars that probably were due to my lack of experience with the program, or perhaps issues with Apple M1 as opposed to Intel---who knows? In any event, I have decided that Kstars does not meet my needs and will trouble you no more.

Thanks again for your time.
