This happens in both X11 and Wayland. Created attachment 157369 [details]
New crash information added by DrKonqi
plasmashell (5.24.7) using Qt 5.15.7
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Cold start of FreeBSD 13.1-RELEASE-p6 GENERIC amd64, Configured to run xdm - login
Get splash screen, then XDM console window lower right, as normally
Nothing else on screen except background image (plain gray)
Can use CTRL-ALT_DEL to get back to the XDM login
Affter logging in via XDM the SECOND time, everything works fine.
Tried disabling XDM, so get text screen login, then log on and type in startx command.
Same general behavior from there (Sometimes plasma fails, sometimes not).
Restart (quit KDE5, XDM, login via XDM): sometimes crashes as above, sometimes not)
-- Backtrace (Reduced):
can you confirm if moving .cache/plasma* resolves the issue? I do not have .cache/plasma. Moving .cache/plasmashell and .cache/plasma-svgelements did not resolve the issue. Moving .cache/plasma_theme_default_v5.104.0.kcache did resolve the issue. Dear Bug Submitter, This bug has been in NEEDSINFO status with no change for at least 15 days.
