Hi

I'm considering switching to kmail from mutt (yes sounds weird but that's it) but I still like to process my mail in the background via cron while I'm not logged on (because downloading mail _does_ take time and I do receive a lot of mails).

For this I would need a kmail that can check for and send my mail apply all the filters and put all mail into the appropriate filters WITHOUT needing an X11 display. Is this possible and feasible?


If this works and the RFC2015 PGP/MIME support is in KDE 3.1 then you've probably got a new user :-)

That's the point: I want to define my filters _once_ and _not_ install a
local MTA. 

fetchmail needs a local MTA.

Not necessarily. There's an mta option for fetchmailrc's. Tried "cat >> 
mailspool" as mta?

That's not such a good idea since mailspool won't be locked. This could 
cause the loss of messages. So don't try it.

Reporter is gone - and I think this is a very special feature that only specialist would use. kmail is a GUI program.
