When starting Kate, a special page to welcome the user is shown and a list of recent documents is presented. Currently, only a single recently opened file can selected to be opened, but it would be nice to select several files at once to be opened.
Related, the list is vertically quite narrow, showing only the last 8 files without scrolling. On a large desktop screen however, there is much empty (unused) space around the welcome widgets. The layout should make better use of the available space on large screens.
