STEPS TO REPRODUCE

OBSERVED RESULT
for- macOS 13.2
I Installed Krita one day and did some simple testing. The next day when turning on my iMac the box program icon vanished from the desktop.
The next day I reinstalled Krita and did some more testing. The same thing happened two days later. Double clicking on the file I was working on did not open the file.

EXPECTED RESULT
I plan to contribute to your org. after some testing, but so far the Krita program does not stay around.
Is this a BUG?
I have been an Adobe Photoshop user for 20+ years.
I am looking for a low cost alternative now.
See my website- www.aencreative.com
and
see the test file I was working on (attached).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

No, this is not a bug -- Krita doesn't manage its "desktop icon". Most likely, you opened the dmg, ran krita from the dmg, but didn't actually drag the krita icon into the applications folder.
