STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. create a new user account in Users KCM
2. logout
3. login with the new user account
4. open Kickoff

OBSERVED RESULT
Favorites list is empty

EXPECTED RESULT
default browser, System Settings and possibly other apps should be present in the Favorites list

Cannot reproduce. Is the view 100% empty, or does it have *something* in it? Can you attach a screenshot of it?

No. The Favorites list remains empty.

How strange. :/ I can't reproduce it with a new user account and git master from a few days ago, before the port to Qt 6 started.

is it empty in Kicker too? That would indicate an issue in the activities database.

Kicker is not affected. After switching back to Kickoff, the bug is no longer reproducible.

Tested on Arch Linux running Plasma alpha 6 and neon unstable; cannot reproduce.
