Description Genik 2023-02-20 12:52:10 UTC
(F2) Renaming Options - Metadata - "ExifTool" does not allow you to take any metadata information from a photo.

Produces correctly "EXIF", "Makenotes", "IPTC" and "XMP"
but "ExifTool" returns empty - no tag can be used to rename files.

as an example, the photo has tags:

File Modification Date/Time : 2021:05:09 07:01:51+03:00
File Access Date/Time : 2023:02:20 15:39:42+03:00
File Creation Date/Time : 2023:02:20 11:37:01+03:00

When trying to use "ExifTool" data to rename command file

[meta:File.File.Image.FileAccessDate]
[meta:File.File.Image.FileCreateDate]
[meta:File.File.Image.FileModifyDate]

give empty values

The file date information are not tags in the images, but come from the file system. Even if ExifTool merges them to the metadata. Renaming supports the options available under Metadata. Use the Date & Time function.

Example of creation date:

[meta:Exif.Image.DateTimeOriginal]

[date:Text]

[date:ISO]

If there is no way to take any information from ExifTool, then why is it
presented then?

It so happens, and it often happens, that the information about the
modification time of a file is the only correct information about the date
of the file. How can it be applied to the file name?
