STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. in DXO photolab : set a tag on a raw 
2. in Digikam: refresh the metadata : caption / more / read metadata from file to database


OBSERVED RESULT
tag not visible in digikam (properties)

EXPECTED RESULT
tag should be visible in Digikam. This is working for rating and color label

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows 10

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Digikam is configured for compatibility with commercial products

I used exiv2 tools and I see that missing tags are present in the XMP file in  dublin Core / Subject
D:\images\Pellicules\pellicule 2022\2022-09\2022-09-26>exiv2 -g subject P9260030.XMP
Xmp.dc.subject                               XmpBag      7  Best-of, Bretagne, Paysage, fokkus, ile grande, pays, plage

I add a new metada namespace but it doesn't solved the problem

Move Xmp.dc.subject to the first position in the advanced metadata settings.

However, Xmp.dc.subject should not be in captions, but in tags. If they made these changes on purpose, they are wrong.

just tried , but still don't see the tags in digikam  in the icon or properties view

In their case, Xmp.dc.subject belongs in Tags at the first position in the list and not in Captions.

Reset the Captions and Tags settings and move Xmp.dc.subject to the first position in Tags.

"Reset the Captions and Tags settings" : How to do it ? does it mean remove all captions and tags ?

There is a reset to default button, as well as buttons to move items up and down.

I have reset "metadata namespace" to default  => reread from file to database => no change
I have re-created the namespace "Xmp.dc.subject" and put it at the top => reread from file to database => no change
did I proceed correctly?

You don't need to create it, Xmp.dc.subject is present in tags by default, just move it to the top position with the buttons.

ok , got it! thanks a lot  that works 
(I was missing the menu where to select tags)
you can close it
