*** Bug 48038 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Until this bug is solved, here is a comment to bug 48038 from Ingo that might help, just in case. Anguo ------- Additional Comment #1 From Ingo Kl *** Bug 32305 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** (note for jb-sunlight-de : this is the duplicate bug to your reported bug #44118) Please check the proposed "ugly hack" in bug 32305 . I upgraded the severity to "high" because there is a risk of loss of data. See my comments on this point below. The reporter of Bug 48038 also says: "I was under the impression that the e-mail is saved on the harddrive. This bug cost me about 4 hours of work." ------- Additional Comment bug32305#1 From Ingo Kl *** Bug 44118 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Subject: Re: Drafts should be saved until sent On Thursday 26 September 2002 19:41, Anguo wrote: > Please check the proposed "ugly hack" in bug 32305 . Michael checked the proposed patch and rejected it because it caused a crash under certain circumstances. We will have to come up with an own solution which doesn't crash. > ------- Additional Comment bug32305#1 From Ingo Kl Subject: Re: Drafts should be saved until sent On Thursday 26 September 2002 23:40, Anguo wrote: > Is this new in CVS? When the user restarts KMail the message is automatically loaded in the composer so that the user won't lose a single character. Unfortunately this doesn't always work. I saved it to drafts and then opened it in drafts to verify it was there. I then shutdown my computer and when I went back in it was gone. Unfortunately I believe I over wrote it when I tried the same thing again to test with a ddummy file. If it isn't really saving it in drafts it should not be labeled as such. I frequently will have several drafts to different people I am working on. I would think the drafts folder would be the ideal place for these but definately not in its current state. -PaulK Subject: Re: Drafts should be saved until sent (major) This mail losing bug has now been fixed. Messages being edited or composed are now saved periodically to disk to prevent mail loss. Thank you for your advisory. Subject: Re: Drafts should be saved until sent To be precise: This has been fixed in HEAD which will eventually become part of KDE 3.2. This has not been fixed in KDE 3.1 which is about to be released. *** Bug 134991 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** |
